Macro to find a part of string in a main excel sheet

Hi All,

I am trying something in excel which seems difficult for me being a beginner. Can any one please help.
My query is like, I have "ABN AMRO" in cell A1 in first sheet. and in next sheet I have "ABN AMRO Bank". I have to find ABN in next sheet and paste ABN AMRO in adjacent cell. If something is not matching either part of text then left adjecent cell as blank. Please help.

Not enough examples to work on. Please post a sample workbook which explains your problem more thoroughly.

Hi pete,

I have attached a short piece of data for example.
In sheet 1 in column B, i have to paste matched name from sheet2.

Hi Pete,

What I am trying to do if any part of text from sheet 1's cell is matching with any part of sheet 2. I need to paste corresponding cell from sheet 2.
like for "ABN AMRO N.V. HQ" i need to paste " ABN AMRO Bank" from sheet 2.
