Question Combining two columns of data

Hi there! I am new to this and I hope you all can help me. I am trying to compile a list of names and addresses and I got 500+ lines of information from someone who had entered addresses like so: Column 1: P.O. Box (number only, not the words, "P.O. Box"), Column 2: Physical address so it looks like this (the "...." is the only way I could demonstrate the blank spaces in the columns):
    8765
    7869
    3021
    .......123 Line Ave.
    4567
    .......234 First St.
    9752
    .......345 Second St.
I need to combine these into one column of addresses to do a mail merge. I have learned from another thread how to add the words "P.O. Box" to the front of the first column, but what I need is a more complicated formula like "IF this box does not have a numerical figure THEN do not add "P.O. Box". Merging the two columns across combines them easily, but if I have "P.O. Box" on every line in the first column then it removes the physical addresses in the second column. If I wait to add "P.O. Box" to the numbers, then it puts "P.O. Box" on the front of every physical address. I am certain this is possible. Please advise!

Re: Combining two columns of data

If your P.O. Box #'s are in column A, and your physical addresses are in column B, then try this in column C and fill down:

    =IF(A1>0,"P.O. Box "&A1,B1)

For your examples, this should result in:
    P.O. Box 8765
    P.O. Box 7869
    P.O. Box 3021
    123 Line Ave.
    P.O. Box 4567
    234 First St.
    P.O. Box 9752
    345 Second St.

    Hope that helps...

No, I have lived in Louisiana for 8 years now and I don't think I will ever get used to the humidity. But now the dry air in Boise kills me when I'm there visiting, too!
