Add "Set Font color" based on value in another column to a formula

I have just started trying to learn a little about formula's in Excel 2007. I've spent a couple hours browsing posts and would like to ask a question.
How can I assign a font color RED to the symbol inserted in the 'C' column with this formula if it meets the criteria, =IF(D6>=6,"J", "N")

Thank you for any help you can give.

    Hi Millsde ,

I am not really good at excel, but as far as I understand, Are you asking on how to change the Font color in column C when the condition meets the criteria? If So, I have tried simple method which is - In Column C, I have set a rule using Conditional Formatting stating that "Format Only Cells with": Specific Text: and entered N, click on Format and change the Font color to Red. Addition to it, I have changed the Font type to "Wingdings" so that it shows symbol and the desired color. Conditional Formatting.JPG

Sorry, if this is not what you were looking for

I appreciate the replies very much. I spent a fair amount of time on this and feel like I got close to the solution. There appears to be different ways to approach this. Your suggestion does in fact work. Thank you again for your help.
