Post If condition function need help

    Hi,
I have a table which has P1 and P2 as headings in rows 5 and 6.I have pass and fail as headings in columns C4 and D4.
Now i need to have a formula which has to search for P1 Pass, P2 Pass, P1 fail and P2 fail in a string in G3 to G6 and fill the corresponding values in the corresponding cells.

Please find the attached and help me.

    Thanks in advance.

    Put this formula in C5:

    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

then copy/paste to your other yellow cells.

Not sure if columns H to K are part of your data, so here's one that only refers to column G:

    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

Again, put this in C5 and copy to the other cells.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Pete_UK

It is not taking if there are 3 numbers from the right side. I mean if there is a number 234 it is giving an error "#Value". One more thing is if it is taking a number that should not contain special char's like ":" or any spaces also. Please help me if that is possible.

You should have posted representative data - your examples only showed 1- and 2-digit numbers after the :

Put this amended formula in C5:

    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

This will cater for any number of digits after the colon.

    Hope this helps.
