    Setting up Rosters

    Hi Guys,

not 100% best way to explain this, but i will provide sample data below

What we have setup is a 4 shift roster for the weekend, and people were able to nominate what shifts they wanted to do.
Saturday AM, Saturday PM, Sunday AM, Sunday PM
now these shifts do overlap, so no-one can work twice on the same day, and we want to avoid working them all weekend as then they are doing 12 days straight.

The next concern is having them working multiple weekends in a row (the smallest shift has 12 ppl interested, and only req 2 onsite, so max 6 week rotation)

please find attached the list with some random names...
any help would be greatly accepted

Currently what I have is sheet 1 with randbetween formula's and sheet 2 with the names in columns based on availability (a->d == Saturday AM, Saturday PM, Sunday AM, Sunday PM)

So what do you exactly want to achieve with this? You want Excel to tell you which people should work what shift?
I'm not sure I understand your 4 shift roster as 7am-12pm is in there three times?
Do you want to threat every weekend as a new weekend or do you want to keep track of how often people do overtime as to spread it more evenly, or to the contrary, give people who do weekend-shifts a lot preferences?

    Re: Setting up Rosters

Basically on the Saturday we have 3 people on the shorter shift, 2 on the later shift...
Sunday we have 2 and 2.

We would like to be able to keep track so we can spread it out... but we are limited by how many staff are willing to do shifts...
is it possible for the randbetween function to not produce a duplicate?
