Conditional format a cell based on a result of a formula in another cell

I am trying apply a 3 color scale to cell C3 based on the results of the formula in cell D3 which sums 6 cells and then divides by another (all determined by formulas dependent on the selection of drop down lists starting on row 9 col C). Do I need to build a macro to do this or can I use the Conditional Formatting Rule. I have tired a few ways but nothing has worked for me unless I am in cell D3 and even then the colors do not display properly. My criteria is Red if below 75%, Yellow between 89 and 76%, and Green if Above 90%.

Any Help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Taiter, see my response on your other post...

In the future, please avoid asking the same question in different threads... just continue with your previous post...

    Hi Taiter,

Check out this spreadsheet... I used Conditional Formatting, but didn't use the Color Scales as I suggested...

Instead, I simply used a New Rule, used the formula Type, entered the first condition... then went back to Manage Rules and added 2 more New Rules for the other conditions...

See if this works for you...

That will work. Thank you. I just didnt know if there was a way to do it all under one rule.

It's possible to do it under one rule if you are applying the conditional formatting within the cell in question... but because the cell color depends on a different cell, I think this is the only way to do this... I could be wrong though... anybody know?

What you provided is working. I am going to stay with that for now; may have other requirements down the line that will need to be formatted. Thank you for your help.
