    Equation for "Y", "N", or "?" Outcome

    Hi Excel Forum Team,

I need help with an equation (see attached UPDATED spreadsheet example) that will confirm if a questionable server Host Name (Column “E”) has been flagged as Host Name Approved (Column “B”) or Host Name Rejected (Column “C”) by copying and pasting the Host Name (Column “E”) into designated Approved or Rejected column and as a result the equation I need help on would reside in the Host Name Confirmed column (Column “D”).

This equation would show one of three outcomes:
    - First, if the Host Name (Example, “GG1111”) is flagged approved by our data team and is therefore added into the Host Name Approved (Column “B”) and the equation in the Host Name Confirmed column (Column “D”) would show “Y”.
    - Second, if the Host Name (Example, “GG3333”) is flagged approved by our data team and is therefore added into the Host Name Rejected (Column “C”) and the equation in the Host Name Confirmed column (Column “D”) would show “N”.
    - Third, if the Host Name (Example, “GG9999”) is new and has not been flagged by the data team and as a result has not been either the Host Name Approved (Column “B”) or the Host Name Rejected (Column “C”) columns the equation in the Host Name Confirmed column (Column “D”) would show “?”.

PLEASE NOTE (Update - see attached UPDATED spreadsheet example): In the attached spreadsheet example, in the Host Name Approved (Column “B”) or the Host Name Rejected (Column “C”), there will be NO EMPTY/BLANK CELLS for the needed equation in column "D" to acctess.

    Thank you for your help!

    Garrett
