    Special lookup problem

    Hi,

    i have to lookup values in a range and didn't get it done.

    Values I want to look up are Company SIC codes like these

    Standart Industry Classification Codes:

    7349
    2834
    1311
    ...
    (I have about 60 of these)


    and i want to check them up against the following sample:

    Yes, post your excel file, without confidentional information.

    Please also add the desired (expected) result in your file.

    After that I will take a look at it.

    I found the sheet,

    But what should (manualy) be the results of the sheet.

    I don't see the connection between de input and output data.

    what I want to look up my SIC-Codes in the the SIC-Code-Ranges for the 12 Industry Classifications, to get for every SIC-Code a Industry Classification 1,2,3, .. or 12.

    Please make a few examples in the file, and write manualy to which cells it is related.

    It's clear to you, but i'm not with this kind of data, so it say's nothing to me.

    So if, you give me the answers, I can take a look how they are related, and will look for an excel solution for it.

    I made this with VLookup.

    I rearanged your table (data) (see sheet input (2)).
