i want to make a region uneditable if a value isn't met

Hi, I'm new here and I have to design a from for school and i was wondering if it's possible to make a region of a spreadsheet uneditable if say for example a score of 14 isn't achieved.

And I mean uneditable as in sort of faded instead of black and clicking on it does nothing.

Can you provide a sample of the workbook? Remove any sensitive data.

You can always lock and unlock the cells and the protect the sheet. this will prevent users from clicking on it. you can also change the color of the font to gray for a nicer look.

    Thanks

i've atatched a copy of the workbook in its current state.

on the left where it says A level subjects, I want to make the first three editable if the no. of points gained at GCSE is 14 or over and all four editable if its 24 or over.

    hope this helps.

    Hello lazerphazer21,

I was looking at your sheet and I made some modifications to it for me to be able to lock the cells you wanted. In the original one you wanted to lock a list object which is different from the cell.

I put a little bit of code under the sheet(form) to make it automatic

I am also attaching the new modified file. Note that the extension changed.

Please mark this thread as solved.

PS: this solution uses dynamic ranges and ranges for data validation list. You might want to Google about those in case you ever have to modify this.
