multiple conditions for a conditional format

I complete a roster for an emergency department, I am trying to adjust my spreadsheet so that I only need one conditonal format.

This is what I have managed to acheive so far,

=IF(OR(F3="10L"),OR(H3="7L"),IF(OR(F3="15S",F3="12L",F3="19L",F3="2130S"),OR(H3="7S",H3="7L")))

When this is true the cells I need are highlighted red so that I can identify an error in someones roster, I still need to enter more conditions but am struggling to make it work. I am also applying it to multiple adjacent cells, which is working.

if a staff member is rostered the following shifts on consecutive days (ie mon/tues, or tues/wed) I need the cell highlighted,

MONDAY TUESDAY
19L OR 2130S 7L OR 7S OR 10 OR 10L OR 12 OR 12L OR 1330S OR 15S
15S 7L OR 7S
10L 7L OR 7S
12L 7L OR 7S OR 10L

any reason you only want to use one conditional format
you could set multiple rules that all apply the same format and use the stop if true function

Re: multiple conditions for a conditional format

When you use CF, you dont (depending on the formula) need to use IF(). CF works ONLY on a TRUE/FALSE answer, so maybe the formula you provided can be shortened to...
=OR(F3="10L",H3="7L",F3="15S",F3="12L",F3="19L",F3="2130S",H3="7S",H3="7L")
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

It will also work if the result of rule formula returns ANY number other than 0.

It will also work (won't apply the format) if the rule formula returns an error.
