If a number is to be input, "1" is not a good example. Double quotes indicate a string....Originally Posted by Hurricanefly

thank you so much......it put the number in perfectly......however I lost the ability to total the column.....any suggestions.????
If you put the " " around the number generated by the X in C3, that number will be text and not included in the sum....is that what you mean? If yes, remove the " ".
