Question Copy and Paste Row grouping without copy+paste entire row

    Hello,

So this might be a long post but I want to be specific in what I am trying to do.

Basically I have a P&L with a haierachy of groupings that rollup to the point where I have 5 levels of row groups. I need to remove the original layout that is in Column F, copy and paste in the new P&L Layout, then regroup it all. I would LIKE to automate or streamline this as I have to do it entirely too many times.

SO I am aware that you can copy the row groupings if you select the entire row and copy+paste. the problem is my data will be in column F and I cant disturb the formulas in A:E or G:P. I tried locking all of the sheet except for the exact column I need unlocked then copying and pasting with the grouping already complete in a sample P&L I have created but it did not work correctly.

So long storhy short: Is there a way to copy and paste row groupings without copy+pasting the entire row?

I am not against using VBA but I am not very good with it yet.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Re: Copy and Paste Row grouping without copy+paste entire row

if its one off and your doing the whole thing

why not copy the everything including row groupings but only paste formats

then go into original data hide column F
copy only visible cells A:P and paste into new sheet

ps did not try with formulas to see it that carries ...do not have any data to use
