    Retirement Date Formula

    Hi All,

I have gotten a little stuck working on a forumala to calculate the year of retirement. I need to work out the following:
    • If their date of birth is before 01/01/1955 then I need to add 65 years to their DOB to get their retirement date
    • If it is after 01/01/1955 then I need to add 67 years to their date of birth to get their retirment date

I have used the following formula:
    =IF(A4<1/1/1955,DATE(YEAR(A4)+65,MONTH(A4),DAY(A4)),DATE(YEAR(A4)+67,MONTH(A4),DAY(A4)))

But when I calculate the gaps between their retirement dates and their DOB, it is all showing 67 years when their are people with their birthdays before 1955.

I have attached my workbook for an example of what I mean.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Am I close to getting this worked out?

    Cheers,
    Adam
