Filter Sheet2 based off the filter in Sheet1

I have a workbook displaying goal times for a football match. Sheet1 contains the raw data including a group of match scores and the goal times for each game. Sheet2 uses conditional formatting to highlight the home goal times on a grid.

What I'm trying to do is to be able to filter the home team in column A of Sheet1 and have Sheet2 filter with it. So for example if I was to filter for Arsenal in column A of Sheet1 then Sheet2 would only show matches involving Arsenal and all the conditional formatting would filter with it. Essentially I'm looking to mirror column A of Sheet1 with column A of Sheet2. This is just a sample, in the full project the information in column A of Sheet1 would be constantly changing.

    Thanks for any help.

Consty1, it sounds to me like you're looking for dependent drop-down lists. There's lots & lots & lots of articles on the web - and indeed on this forum - which explain how to set this up, so I'm not going to try to recreate the wheel If you use "dependent drop-down list" as your search term, you should find what you're looking for.

I've been having a good search since you posted your reply but nothing's jumping out at me at the moment, I'll keep having a look.

I'm looking to make the whole process dynamic in that Sheet1 would be filtered and if I was to switch to Sheet2 the filtered rows would already visible without any other action. I'm not sure dependent drop down lists are capable of this from having a dig around.

Hi Fotis, it was you who replied to a similar thread I made. Whilst your solution worked great with standard data I had real problems adapting it to work with conditional formatting for the sample attached in this thread. Have you managed to successfully integrate it with conditional formatting in the past?

Re: Filter Sheet2 based off the filter in Sheet1

Sample 4 attached to the opening post of this thread shows the CF being used on Sheet2. The blue cell fill represents the goal times of the home teams for each match. When using your suggested method I'm struggling to get the CF to filter with the rest of the data.

The previous thread is here btw. http://www.excelforum.com/excel-form...18#post3286918

Ah ok, Would that be because I'm using Excel 2013?

You don't see anything that resembles this on Sheet2? Goal CF.PNG

Bump. I feel like this should be possible but I've spent quite a bit of time working on a solution to no avail.
