Smile Conditional Formatting - Highlight cells that are greater than the value of a cell.

Dear Friends,

I need to apply a Formula to apply in conditional formatting, which should highlight the cells that are more than 07:00 hrs (i.e. the qualifying data is mentioned in W2).

The sample data is given here (The below mentioned values are incoming timings of employees):

What do you mean by qualifying data inW2? I can't see anything in W2.

Re: Conditional Formatting - Highlight cells that are greater than the value of a cell.

Dear Sir,

The range, in which the conditional formatting is to be applied, is from A2:M11. Then the exact attendance time is mentioned in W2.

Now, I need to APPLY A CONDITIONAL FORMATTING TO KNOW THAT whether each employee's in-time is exceeded or not when compared with the time mentioned in W2.

Hope, now it is clear.

Try this...

1. highlight the range you want to apply the conditional formatting to A2:M11
2. on the home tab, styles, select CF
3. select new rule, select use formula
4. enter =A2>=$W$2
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Smile Re: Conditional Formatting - Highlight cells that are greater than the value of a cell.

Dear sir,

Nicely working. But, I am facing one problem. In cell W2: presently I entered: 07.00. The conditional formula is applied for the range and working nicely.

But, when I changed 07.00 to 07.35 or something else, then, only 07 was considered and the numbers beyond decimal was not considered.

Is there a solution?
