Is it possible to change a font type using an If statement?

My company uses index functions to return all the raw materials to make an item on a worktag. So if I enter part number "A" into the sheet it will return all the materials needed. What I would like to do is when we do not have enough of one material instead of returning the name in a standard format I would like it to return it in a 3 of 9 barcode font. Can anyone explain how I might do this using an if statement?

you can't change fonts using a formula or conditional formatting so it would have to be code I reckon
