    Partial Lookup

Need help on a partial lookup.

I need the a value in Column C to be identified in the table to the right of it (it goes from E to J).

I think I need help with a partial lookup, so it doesn't have to be an exact match.

    Please help!

    Re: Partial Lookup

So, in cell A2, you have a formula that checks to see if C2 is blank and, if it's not, it concatenates cell A1 (which appears to be blank in your picture) with an asterisk and then does a VLOOKUP on the table.

Not sure how that's going to work.

You would normally need to make the search table range absolute or it will change as you drag the formula down.

So what formula do you suggest?

    Re: Partial Lookup

Pass. It's your data, and you presumably know what it is you're trying to do ... work back from there.

There's not much anyone can do with a picture of a workbook.
