    Peak difference

Hi guys i have a data set with numerous trials that have been averaged out against time.I need to find the first positive peak between 128-206ms and the first negative peak between 128 and 206ms. I also need to calculate the baseline which would be between -500ms and 0ms. I'm an absolute novice at excel so have no idea how to do this. The data set is attached. Thanks in advance.

    Re: Peak difference

i have made three options for you see attachment whichever is suitable for you

    Option 1
I have highlighted column AX with conditional formatting, which highlights the value 128 -206 ms & -128 to -206 ms

    Option 2
i have inserted two column as category one has shown the category 128-206ms & -128 to -206ms second shows the 0 to -500

    option 3

it shows the count of required logics

    Thanks,
    A

    Re: Peak difference

Hi guys, I'm really sorry, I made an error. I'm really sorry, I actually need to find the first positive peak between 76 and 168ms and the first negative peak between 128 and 206ms. I also need to calculate the baseline which would be between -500ms and 0ms. I will then subtract the baseline from the values of the negative and positive peak.

    Re: Peak difference

Hi, I'm not entirely sure how to calculate the baseline. But according to the data files u guys adjusted, I can't seem to find how the first positive peak was identified and how the first trough was identified within the respective time frames, Is there a formula to identify this because this is where I'm having serious trouble.

    Thanks

    Re: Peak difference

well the one i posted was in the yellow cells bb12 and bb13 but for 76 and 168 its returning 75.13 but if you wind it up a bit to 76.12

    it gives 77.107

    Re: Peak difference

Hi guys, sorry about my late reply, thanks a bunch for all your help, I think I've got the formulas i need. However, I don't know how to obtain averages by excluding certain conditions. For example, I have 48 trials and some of those trials were a little bit different so I termed them as flicker. How do I tell excel to give me the averages for the flicker ones and non flicker ones. I've included an example.

    Thank you
