Hi,
I am trying to use conditional formatting to change colour and write in text....this is what I have tried so far
1) highlighting the cells that I want affected by the conditional formatting
2) went to conditional formatting and chose "the formula is"
3) =IF(L12>K12,"NON-COMPLIANT") and added another line with =IFL12<=K12,"COMPLIANT")
4) the coulour and font was changed to Red for Non-Compliant and Green for Compliant
5) click ok and it should work...? (the text is appearing in coloumn M12)
DUE ACTUAL COMPLIANCE
01/06/2013 05/06/2013 Non Compliant
05/06/2013 01/06/2013 Compliant
05/06/2013 05/06/2013 Compliant
the other option I tried was semi-successful
1) =IF(L13>K13,"Non Compliant",IF(L13<=K13,"Compliant")) - this formula was jsut written in
2) and then the bit for the coulour change was written in conditional formatting - that resulted in just 1 cell changing (M13)
What is it that I am missing, this is so frustrating as I have done this before but I cant see the mistake, I am using excell 2003.
