    Lightbulb How can I multiply in batches?

    Hi.

    Another possibly obvious one here but I'm struggling with getting a method of getting a quantity to be calculated in only batch quantities.

    Its for a stock vs. demand sheet, we only want to make in full batches. We will be ok if we have a closing stock, as absolute demand wont always equal what we can effectively make, and some start stock is also preferable.

    eg.

    1 batch = 35
    demand = 128

    batches to make demand = 3.66
    - so make would be +35*3.66 = 128.1

    I'd need it to be...

    1 batch = 35
    demand = 128

    batches to make demand = 4
    - so 35*4 = 140 (12 remaining to carry over as opening stock)

    So how can I manipulate the batches required to equal whole batches, not part batches?

    Cheers guys

    Woody

    Hi Woody
    Using your example you can use this formula:

    =ROUNDUP(35*3.66,0)

    This rounds "UP" the calculation to the next whole number.
    Hope this helps.
    Good luck.

    Hi tony, this only gives me 128 as a result.

    I need to calculate how many batches it would take to reach the demand, in this example, would be 4. I dont want the 3.66 because in theory, the lowest we can make is 4 which gives a yield of 140 to meet the demand of 128.
