In order to calculate the difference between two dates and time you need the data to compliant with format that Excel would understand. The example you have provided does not represent this requirement.

It might be easier to offer suggestions if you provided better examples of the data you are working with? As mentioned above, "7/22 0630" - if thats exactly what your data looks like - is not a date/time value
