How to update stock levels in a worksheet automatically frm a receipt in another worksheet

I am making an excel database for my business stock levels. I am going to produce a receipt in the same document but a different worksheet. Is there a formula that would allow me to minus the quantity processed in the receipt from the stock levels in the main worksheet? Or have I got to manually update these levels every time I sell something and process a receipt?

Are you referring to linking the sheets together? If so you can always put a formula in one sheet referring to the other like this...
='Macintosh HD:Users:Sam:Downloads:[Work%20in%20progress-2.xlsx]Sheet4'!$B$13
where the first part 'Macintosh HD:Users:Sam:Downloads: is the file location, this part is the file and sheet name and cell location [Work%20in%20progress-2.xlsx]Sheet4'!$B$13
