Hi,
I have been tasked with taking some numbers, IE 22 and averaging against a time. For example 6hrs 46mins.
Is there a simple formula I can use to achieve this?
Thanks and best regards,
Tony

Hi,
Could you explain a bit more what you mean by "averaging against a time"?
Even better, could you post a sample workbook with an example of what you mean, including your desired outcome?

This is the scenario. I have a salesman who works for 6.46 hours and sells 22 units I need a formula that tells me how many units he sells an hour.
In that case, unless I'm missing something, simply divide the number of units by the hours worked (In Excel, the slash (/) represents division.)

Thanks for that but it doesn't work for me, if I have a column of times and a column of numbers I cannot get the results I am looking for with a simple division.
A1 B1 C1
06:46 22 =b1/a1 comes up with 78.02
This is something I am looking for doing on a daily basis for 20+ salespeople so a calculation in excel would be the best solution.
Ok, in that case, try:
=B1/(24*A1)
