# Avg numbers in specified interval from non-interval data

1. ## Avg numbers in specified interval from non-interval data

Hello,

I didn't really know how to explain this in the title, but hopefully I can do better here.

I have a data set collected from a temp sensor. The data is simply a time range and temperature reading. Each new line is created as the sensor detects a change in temperature. There will be periods where the temperature is consistent for an hour, or it changes in a minute. ex:

A B
Min Temp
1 72.4
17 73.1
31 73.4
2 73.0
5 72.8

What I want to do is filter this data into 15 min intervals. So the weighted average temperature for the first 15 min would be ((1*72.4)+(14*73.1))/15 = 73.05

If I create a column with the interval, what's the corresponding formula to give me the weighted avg?

Interval
15 73.05
30 ?
45
60
etc.

Hi,

Have a look at this. Does it work for you?

Hope it helps
