    Help!! Which formula should I use?

    Hello,

    Im trying to find a formula to do the fallowing:

    I came up with this but I dont know how to do it.

    =SUMIFS(sum_range,criteria_range1,criteria1,criteria_range2,criteria2)

    Sum_range = Column A
    Criteria_range1 = Column where I can find the word "Resp. Co2"
    Criteria1 = Cell AO2
    Criteria_range2 = Column where I can find the word "Action2"
    Criteria2 = "FAIL"

    I need to find in it in that way, because depending on the sheet the word "Resp. Co2" change from column to column, as well as the "Action2".

    Im attaching the file HERE: Mreport.xls so you can look at it.

    The formula should be in the cell "AT2" which correspond at the column named "DBLostTime".

    Thanks for your help!!

    You might also create one column that does that search and make it equal the result you want to SUMIFS, then make the SUMIFS refer to that column, since it will now always contain what you want. Other option would be SUM each column independently and then SUMIFS those totals according to your criteria if there's a possibility multiple columns will meet your conditions.

    The problem is that both times I mean DBLostTime and DBOTime comes in the same column, so, the only way to find out what "kind of time" it is, is by the "Action2" column. :S

    I'm a bit confused, maybe because it's early in the morning... back up a little for me, because even with the problem you explain, I'm still thinking SUMIFS should work.

    In your example file, column J only contains WDS or RIG, neither of which are in the criteria column AO. Also, "Fail" only appears once in column H, so it is not surprising that all your answers in column AT are zero.

    Hope this helps.
