I've been running XIRR commands over various ranges of data and it works fine on some ranges and just flat out wrong in others. Below I've attached the spreadsheet with the data I'm using. If I do a rough math on the return (sum of what I put versus what it is worth at the end of the time frame) I should be negative a few percentage points.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this or why it produces these results?

Very interesting read. It has given me some tools to check that XIRR is actually producing a result I can check. The work around with the database thing is a little too much for me though lol.
I was trying to use the solver method. It works where XIRR works (giving me a good check), but the solver fails where the XIRR fails lol. Life I guess.
