IF, AND Criteria Question

Is there a formula that will show the data in either column "B" or "C" depending upon value of column "A"? For example, I would like column "D" rows 1,2, and 3 to say "Joe Saunders (L)", "Barry Enright (R), and "Armando Galarraga (R)" because column "A" has the symbol "@", whereas I would like column "D" rows 4,5 and 6 to say "Ian Kennedy (R)", "Daniel Hudson (R)", and "Joe Saunders (L) because column "A" does not have the symbol "@".
