Help with sorting columns side by side

I'm making myself a bit crazy trying to figure this one out. I have 2 columns full of information that isn't completely the same in both columns. I've sorted each column into alphabetical order and now that's complete, I would like to sort side by side so that data from column A matches data from column B and where data doesn't match the cell is left blank. Is this possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the data in Column A exactly the same as Column B, even though there's some gaps?

Hi - The columns are not completely the same. I am trying to sort a very long list of banks in which both columns have a list A-Z, however not all banks in Column A are in Column B. This is the main reason why I'm trying to do a side by side sort so I don't have to do a manual check. I'm ultimately trying to figure out where the info Column A and info from Column B are different.

Here, try this:

I used VLOOKUP to pull the records. Then there is no sorting needed.

VLOOKUP(LOOKUP WHAT, WHERE, RETURN WHAT COLUMN, [0 FOR EXACT MATCHES])

and nested it inside IFERROR to return blanks for missing entries
