# Need help: Ruingn formula until row sum hits a maximum

1. ## Need help: Ruingn formula until row sum hits a maximum

Hi Everyone - I am hoping you can give me some help with this as I am STUMPED. Here is what I need:

Row 3 Calculates Pension contributions with this formula "=(C3-(134.62*2))*4.95%" That formula goes across for the year, and is totaled in column L.

I need L3 to either hit a Maximum number of 2356.2 or total the sum if it's less than this. I've tried some formulas but gotten into a circular reference number.

I also am having trouble returning the last "remainder" value. Can you help me without the use of a helper row or column?

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Sandi

Can you post a sample workbook that exhibits the kind of calculations you want to do?

Hi Ron,

Let me know if I can provide any further clarification.

Sandi

Edit: I need the formula in row 8 to continue until the sum of E8:M8 & P8:R8 (CPP contributions for calendar year 2013) is equal to the value in B1 = \$2356.20 (instead of H1).
