    Way to long =IF function

    Hello,

I'm sure that someone already has solutions for this problem, but I could not find it.
I have a horizontal database and I want to get information (vertically) in another sheet based on the ID in the database.

    So you will get this:
    =IF(sheet1!ID=Database!ID1;DatabaseName1;=IF(sheet1!ID=Database!ID2;DatabaseName2;=IF(sheet1!ID=Database!ID3;DatabaseName3;........;"no matching ID")
Written so I think its understandable.

Since I want at least 1000 ID's to work..... this function would become way to much work to make and it would be extremely long.

Can someone plz help me with a solution?

    Example:
    Example.xlsx

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Looks like an INDEX & MATCH issue, but:

Be sure that best way to describe your problem is to upload a sample workbook.

Be sure that all sensitive data removed, showing what data you are working with, a few examples of what your expected outcome is, and how you arrived at that.

To attach a small sample workbook.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

The moment I think it's time to ask help, I find the right solution.

    VLOOKUP(lookup_value, table_array, col_index_num, [range_lookup])
