Formula to search for and filter data

    Hi,

I have an excel sheet with several tabs across the bottom, each tab is of a specific area. Within each area there are several jobs of which are completed by workers.

I would like to add a few more tabs however id like the tabs to be of each worker. So I am after an equation that will search through the other entire tabs looking for this worker name and filtering back into the worker tab:

    Area 1
Job Nr Worker Rd Name Status Date
    1 AA Rd 1 Finished 02/02/13
    2 AB Rd 2 Finished 10/03/13
    3 AA Rd 3 Pending 03/09/13

    Area 2
Job Nr Worker Rd Name Status Date
    1 AB Rd 1 Pending 03/09/13
    2 AB Rd 2 Finished 08/08/13
    3 AC Rd 3 Finished 07/05/13

    AB
Area Nr Job Nr Rd Name Status Date
    1 2 Rd 2 Finished 10/03/13
    2 1 Rd 1 Pending 03/09/13
    2 2 Rd 2 Finished 08/08/13

I hoped I explained this well enough for someone to help out!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Be sure that best way to describe your problem is to upload a sample workbook.

Be sure that all sensitive data removed, showing what data you are working with, a few examples of what your expected outcome is, and how you arrived at that.

To attach a small sample workbook.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

Re: Formula to search for and filter data

So you need multiply results for a worker in multiply sheets....

This will be hard to do...

My suggestion for this is to use VBA OR to use a sheet for all your Area and then quite easily to create many sheets for eatch worker.

    Good luck.
