Typing an array into a formula rather than referring to an array of cells

Hi,

I am trying to type an array into a formula. The values of the array equate to a simple rotation matrix which i intend to perform matrix multiplication with but i am getting stuck when trying to confirm the formula i type;

when i try to confirm the formula by pressing the return key excel gives me a generic formula error message and highlights in black the first occurance of the trigonometric function - the first being the cosine function...

If i delete the cosine function and replace it with the number 1 and then try and confirm excel errors again highlighting the first trigonometric function, this time the sine function.

Does excel not like resolving calculations within an array?
