Cannot understand creating a formula

I am just starting excel in school. I cannot figure out how to put together a formula. I need like a list of them and how theyt can be put together. Anything to help me grasp this concept.

Hi and welcome to the forum

If we were to give you a "list" of formulas, it would be a mile long. The best way to understand how the basic formulas work is to consider that a worksheet (tab) is a collection if rows and columns, and the intersection of a row and column is a cell.

The cell is where it all happens - you cant refer to other cells.
For instance in B1 you could have =A1 to give you the contents of A1
or if you have a value (10) in A1 and another (20) in A2, you can add them using =A1+A2

You can learn a lot in forums like this one.

If you can "invest" several hours every day reading and studying the solutions and doing lots of experimentation in 4 or 5 years you'll be an Excel Guru.
