Conditional Formatting Based on Value of Two Cells

Can anyone tell me how to format a cell based on the value of two cells (Excel 2007)?

Essentially, I have a spreadsheet that tracks continuous learning points on a two-year basis. I'm trying to find a formula that will format cells (color) if they do not have a minimum number of points within 60 days of the date required.

In other words: One cell contains their cumultive points earned (80 required) and the other contains their required completion date. I've tried multiple conditional formatting formulas but can't seem to write/find a combination that works. Then again, I consider myself a novice to Excel.

Any help, suggestions, or solutions are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you much!!!

In the conditional formatting use "use a formula ..."

then the formula will be of the form =AND($B$10=1,$C$10=2)

To test the dates the syntax will be date1 <date2 +60 If you get stuck here check in the formulae for date functions.

Re: Conditional Formatting Based on Value of Two Cells

Hi and welcome to the forum

When I need to develop a "tricky" CF formula, i often do it IN the worksheet, it is easier to fiddle around and tweak the formula there, than in the CF window. Construct the formula so that it returns TRUE or FALSE, so for this example, using the suggestion above, if you type in...
    =AND($B$10=1,$C$10=2)
this will return a TRUE if both B10=1 AND C10=2 - a TRUE will triger the CF, a false will not. So if only 1 of the 2 conditions are met, the answer will be FALSE and the cell format/color will not change
