I need to compare student quiz submission names/grades against a master list of names.

This is my 1st post. I welcome feedback regarding proper forum rules.
I use a web based program to give quizzes to my students. The student submissions returned to me do not include their associated class periods. The submissions return to me in this format: In the 1st cell: Last name, First name (first name.last name) then in next cell: the grade. I want to copy/paste this submission list into Excel against a master list which includes class periods... and then quickly see:
1. who has taken the quiz by a grade indicator.
2. who has not taken the quiz.
3. what class period the student is in.
4. show the best score only (sometimes I permit a second attempt)
Thank you. This will be a big time saver for me. (And, I am anxious to learn more about this process!)

I can live without the deletion of the lowest score (if two attempts were made) as long as they are listed next to each other. My primary issue is getting the submitted students name/grades lined up with their associated class period. After I get that I can "sort" to line up the class periods.

@NoxExcel, check this. After changing student list, click the button "best_score_only". Let me know if it works for you.
