Elapsed working hours, without counting weekends or non-working hours

    Hi Excel wizzes,

Amazing resource you have here on this forum.

I was hoping someone could assist me with calculating elapsed hours - taking into consideration working hours and (non-working) weekends.

Please see the example spreadsheet attached. I was trying to use a formula provided in a similar post, which works perfectly over weekends but doesn't work over non-working hours.

    Thank you very much.

PS, I hope this works as I have never used a forum before!

Sorry but I couldn't get my head around the formula and ended up getting lost so am attaching a sample of a Staff Timesheet I created some years ago:

Re: Elapsed working hours, without counting weekends or non-working hours

    Thanks Ursul!

I can't see in this spreadsheet which formula I would use to solve my problem. The difference being that I have a start date/time and an end date/time, which crosses several days (usually 1-3) and over weekends. I need to calculate the number of working hours this transaction took to complete.

This post http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...-weekends.html is where I started. Just need to exclude the evenings, but I don't understand the formula enough to adjust.

    Appreciate any help greatly! Cheers
