    SUMPRODUCT multiplies too many times...?

    Hello Excellers,

    IN SUMPRODUCT calculation, the formula did the multiplication three times when it is supposed to multiply only once. o.O

    The formula I typed is:

    Did I write it incorrectly? I do not see why it would do the multiplication three times. Any feedback?

    Thanks!

    There are 3 data which meet the criteria?

    Without seeing your file, it is hard to tell (at least for me).

    Re: SUMPRODUCT multiplies too many times...?

    Your formula is syntactically correct but using SUMIFS is more efficient.

    =-SUMIFS(Details!$I$2:$I$100363,Details!$H$2:$H$100363,5121,Details!$E$2:$E$100363,">="&DATE(2012,10,1),Details!$E$2:$E$100363,"<="&DATE(2012,10,31))

    If you use cells to hold the criteria then you can shorten it a bit.

    A1 = 5121
    B1 = 10/1/2012
    C1 = 10/31/2012

    =-SUMIFS(Details!$I$2:$I$100363,Details!$H$2:$H$100363,A1,Details!$E$2:$E$100363,">="&B1,Details!$E$2:$E$100363,"<="&C1)

    Thanks for the feedback, guys!

    It helps. However, after second and third time checking the formulas and the data, it turned out to be correct. -__-

    Thanks.

    Marking this as SOLVED.
