Post input from cell A multiplied by a constant in cell x and result captured in cell B

How goes it and thanks for your hard work!

I created a drop down list in cell A (numbers 1-10). I need the result captured in cell B; depending on the number chosen from cell A- multiplied by a constant number I placed outside of my bordered spreadsheet dubbed cell x(constant number is 38.6). So B1= A1*X1....I know this is not the correct function but I am so close?! Any help will be appreciated- Thanks again!!

I'm not sure why that wouldn't work.

    Assuming you put 38.6 in cell X1, then A1*X1 = dropdown value * 38.6
