Calculating IF Formulas To Compute Overtime Pay

    Hello all, I hope you're having a good day/night.

I'm currently trying to learn Excel and am having a problem understanding IF formulas. Here's an example that I'm currently doing:

    Sunrise Credit Union Weekly Payroll.xlsx

I've figured out how to calculate the Regular Pay, however the Overtime Pay is getting me very confused. I'm sure the others will as well.

The formula I'm trying for Overtime Pay is: =IF(D5>$B$21,(D5-$B$21+C5*$B$22),0) but that doesn't seem to be producing the right answer...

I feel like this is really easy work that I'm just not getting.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: IF Formulas

Hi and welcome to the forum

Please address a few shortcomings in your post, and then we can get down to helping you with your questions

    1. Please take a moment to read the forum rules and then amend your thread title to something descriptive of your problem. Once you have done this please send me a PM and I will remove this request.

To change a Title on your post, click EDIT POST then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

    2. Please do not upload a picture/PDF's of your file...rather, upload a sample of your workbook, showing what data you are working with, a few samples of your expected outcome is (manually entered is ok) and how you arrived at that. (exclude sensitive info). Pictures are pretty much impossible to edit, and no-one wants to re-type your data for you Also, not all members can upload picture files (Company firewalls and stuff)

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

Looking forward to helping you further
