using a max formula on a column with no data to give a Blank result

I知 a trainer and I知 trying to streamline my admin. I have a spreadsheet with a various sheets:
Sheet 1 has all names and courses that we do

Sheet 2 has all the workers profiles
Sheet 3 + has each individual course and we input date and test result
In Row 40 of these spreadsheet I have the following Formula for date: =MAX(B9:B38) and for mark: =VLOOKUP(MAX(B9:B38),B9:C38,2,0)

The current result for date: 00 Jan 00 and mark: #N/A.
I知 using the info in this row to go into sheet 1. As there is no data loaded I would like the info to reflect a blank in the column until there is data.

    How can I do that?

Try this "Iferror(VLOOKUP(MAX(B9:B38),B9:C38,2,0)),""). I think this will fix you result. Good luck!
