Multiplication & divide with a minimum & maximum return

    Untitled.png

The calculation that I am trying to get excel to calculate in principal is very easy, however, no matter how many combinations of formula that I try I can not seem to get it to work. I want excel to take the gross annual income figure and carry out the following calculations: 70% of the first £10,000, 50% of the next £50,000 and 40% of anything over £60,000. Please help.

    For the first 10,000:
=10000*0.7*($A$1>=10000) (or =MIN($A$1,10000)*0.7, depends on your way of calculation for amount less than 10,000)
    for next 50,000:
    =MAX(MIN(50000,$A$1-10000)*0.5,0)
    last
    =MAX(0,$A$1-60000)*0.4
    Hope it works.
