    Match(value, array, FALSE)

I'm working on worksheets originally coded by someone else. The match functions have FALSE as the third parameter [match_type]. The only values in the tooltip are -1, 0, and 1.

I was wondering what does entering FALSE in this parameter would do. Does the function look for exact match (as VLOOKUP)?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, but with a little extra wiggle room.

False or 0 as the third parameter mean the function only finds exact matches.

1 and -1 as the third parameter means it will find an approximate or last cell in the range match. 1 is for Greater Than matches, and -1 is Less Than.
