Find Cell Value and Copy to ClipBoard

    Hi Everybody,
I am new to this forum and new to Excel.
I need to find a cell that contains a certain value (of my choice)
and copy it to the clipboard, so I can paste that cell value
into any cell of my choice.

Example: Chart below as sample where SKJ is in A1, I42 is in B1 and SPF is in C1, etc.
    P4Q is in A16, H1B is in B16, 385 is in C16. etc.

So, If I need to find and copy to clipboard (my choice is) N64 for this example.

    I have 2 questions:
    1)What formula would I need?
2)How to use a macro for the task?

Thanks in Advance for any help.

Possibly Vlookup is what you are "looking" for

Re: Find Cell Value and Copy to ClipBoard

    Hi Dave

thanks for the quick reply, but VLookup is not what I had in mind.

I have over 500 entries and to scroll down VLookUp would take too much time.

I want to find, by typing a certain 3 character value into say, cell G5 and have it copied to the clipboard, so It can be pasted into any cell of my choice, for example into Sheet 2 cell H7.

I am looking for a formula to help with the search.
I do not want to type in VLOOKUP every time I do a search, which takes to much time.

Again Thanks, for your quick reply.
