Instrument Count

hi all,

in attached image there are a number of trades, and i would like to calculate the count of instruments that are open based on exit date

trade 1 (bottom) is 1, as EWH is only open
trade 2 is 1, as SPY is only open (EWH is closed out on 22/6)
trade 3 is 1, as trade 2 & 3 are SPY
trade 4 to 5, similar to trade 3
trade 6 is 2, as SPY and EWH are open
etc

i tried countif & frequency, but i haven't been able to get the correct number; please note that this example only uses 2 instruments, i would like to use this for any number of instruments
