Simple Count Calculation

Ok guys I got the following spreadsheet for a ping pong result table for best 2 of 3 match play

I got 'Form Responses'!D:D which has name for Player 1
I got 'Form Responses'!E:E which has name for player 2
I then 'Form Responses'!F:F Set 1 Stats Player 1
I then 'Form Responses'!G:G Set 1 Stats Player 2
I then 'Form Responses'!H:H Set 2 Stats Player 1
I then 'Form Responses'!I:I Set 2 Stats Player 2
I then 'Form Responses'!J:J Set 3 Stats Player 1 (Not always filled if set 1 and 2 is won by same player)
I then 'Form Responses'!K:K Set 3 Stats Player 2 (Not always filled if set 1 and 2 is won by same player)

On my next page I have column A2:A8 a list of player names

what I want to do is find out how many sets they play from Form Response

I tried to count the cells if they had value and then divide it by 2, but I cant seem to get that to work?

Please how could I do this
I am using google docs JUST FYI
Matt

Re: Simple Count Calculation

Your profile does not say what version you are using (which is why we ask), so am unsure if you can use COUNTIFS() for this, or maybe need to use a sumproduct().

upload a sample so we can see what you are working with
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
