    Conditional formatting formula?

How do I make a three color conditional formatting rule that does the following?

I have a column with percents in it, 0-100%.

I want 50% to always be white

I want 100% to be bright red, with numbers 51-99 progressively getting redder.

I want 0% to be yellow, with numbers 1% to 49% progressively getting yellower (as it decreases).

How do i do this? So far I have only been able to do it by middle, highest, lowest or exact number. This is a problem because in a column where 70% is the highest, it gets marked bright red, where I only want it to be partially red.

For example if a columns highest percent was 75% and its lowest percent was 30%, I would want the 75% to be only a partial faded red, and the 30% to be a partial faded yellow.

Does that make sense? How do I do this?

    Re: Conditional formatting formula?

2 Rules in the conditional formatting..

1st Rule (Make sure its on the top of the list so that it's priority)

Format Cells that only contain 50% vlue
    Format cell for White color

    2nd Rule

Format Cells based on their value (2 color scale)
    Change type to "Number"
Enter Minimum Number and Maximum Number (dependent on format of cells, if using percentages 0% = 0 and 100% = 1 or if using whole numbers just use 0 and 100)
Change minimum color to Bright Yellow for low

    This should do the trick.
