I need analysis formula

Dear Experts,
Am having a problem in analyising data as attached. The data i need to analyse are grades in column c ie A,B,C,D,and F.
All i need is to know how many A,B,C etc the students have scored. I can only do this by treating each grade separately eg COUNTIF(C2:C20,"A") and i dont know any general formula to treat all grades at once.Please help me and i highly appreciate your response.

In column E enter the grades A,B,C,D,F from E2:E6

In F2 enter and copy down.
