I'm trying to build a bracket for bowling where 8 guys bowl head to head but i'm having a hard time accounting for two guys tie. If they tie in gm1, then the higher of the two in gm2 advances to the next round. That's the first problem.
The 2nd problem is if two guys in gm2 tie, then I need to break that tie before I compare his score to the other part of the bracket in game 2. Even though its highly unlikely to happen, I still want to account for it.
I have all their scores on another tab "Scores" and trying to use vlookup to use the following game decides the tie breaker for game 1. So if Lancia and Joe tie in gm1 at 11 and then Joe beats Lancia 17-15 in game 2, i need it to show Joe won the first game via tie breaker score of game 2.
But what if Joe and Lancia tie again in game 2? The winner of Lancia/Joe bowls against Long in the 2nd game. And to take it a step further, what if Lancia/Joe/Long all tie in game 2? And to make it even worse, what if Rader and Long tie in game 1, Lancia and Joe tie in game 1 - and then they all tie 4 tie in game 2? I need to take the winner of Rader/Long vs. the winner of Lancia/Joe based on tie breaker of game 3.
I know I've rambled but if anyone can help, that'd be awesome.
Thanks all.
