    index match multiple columns

    Hello -

I have used an index/match formula in the past though I am having trouble with this one. I have attached a spreadsheet to help illustraite what I am hopping to accomplish.

In the spreadsheet I will receive information on the Farm List tab which will included the data in column A. I want to match this data in column A to the the Master File Columns A:D and give the corresponding value in Column E. The formula that I have been trying is {=INDEX('MasterFile'!$A$2:$E$1000,MATCH(A2,'MasterFile'!$A2:$E$1000,0),5)} and it is giving me the N/A error.

Any help on the matter would be much appreciated!

    Best Regards

    Re: index match multiple columns

Thank you for your quick reply. This works as long as the value is in Column A on the Master File. Some of the ID's that I will be looking for are in Columns B,C and D. Do I need to put 'Master File'!$B$2:$B1000, etc at the end?

    Thanks Again
