present values as percentage of sum total of range

Hi guys,

I have a range of data in a row. They're currently numbers, which don't tell managers much, I'd like to format the rows so each value in a single row, presents as a percentage of of the sum total of that single row.

The tricky part is that the row is populated via a formula that drags data from different sheets. so there isn't any actual data in the cells, just a formula that instructs excel to populate the cell with info from "range".

Any thoughts?

For a number to be a percentage of another number, in this case, the total, you'd have to divide one by the other. And you can't do that.

Have a second sheet and do your manipulation and formatting on that.

I feared as much. Everytime I do a sum total I end up with a circular reference. I'll just have to a flat numbers summary and a percentage summary.
